Dodge Charger PCM Unlock File Service
The Dodge Charger is one of the most common platforms we see for GPEC PCM unlock file work. Across the 3.6L Pentastar, 5.7L HEMI, 6.4L / 392, and 6.2L supercharged Hellcat applications, the Charger uses Continental GPEC-family engine controllers — and many of them are GPEC2 or GPEC2A. If you have read your Charger PCM with a supported tool, you can upload that original file and we will process it for supported tuning preparation, then send it back for you to write with your own tool.
This service is built for shops, tuners, mobile programmers, and hands-on owners who already have a read/write tool but need the file processed for unlock access. If you cannot read the PCM yourself, you can mail in the unit and we service it directly. Either way, the goal is the same: a clean, processed file ready for the next step in your tuning workflow, where legally permitted.

Charger engines and PCM families we work with
We routinely handle Charger files across the lineup: 3.6L Pentastar V6, 5.7L HEMI, 6.4L HEMI / 392 SRT, and the 6.2L supercharged Hellcat. We have real-world service experience including a 2020 Dodge Charger GPEC-style PCM, so we know the read formats and label details these cars carry. Because a single model year can ship more than one controller generation, the only reliable way to confirm support is the PCM label, part number, ECU family, and the actual read file — not the badge on the trunk.
When you order, include the PCM label photo, VIN, part number, and the tool and read method you used (OBD, bench, or boot). That lets us confirm the GPEC family and whether your read is complete before any charge. If the file is not something we can process cleanly, you are told up front and not billed.
No read/write tool? You can mail in your PCM and we service the physical unit directly, then ship it back.
What this service does
Upload your original ECU read file and let ECU Flash Cartel process it for supported GPEC tuning preparation. Once complete, you can write the returned file back using your compatible read/write tool.
We support shops, mobile programmers, tuners, and DIY customers nationwide. If you can read the file, you can upload it. If you cannot read it, mail us the PCM.

What you need before ordering
Do not know if your PCM is GPEC2, GPEC2A, GPEC3, GPEC4, GPEC4LM, or GPEC5? Upload a clear photo of the PCM label with your vehicle year, make, model, engine, VIN, and tool used to read the file.
- Original ECU/PCM read file
- PCM label photo
- Vehicle year, make, model, engine
- VIN
- PCM part number
- Tool used to read the file
- Read method: OBD, bench, or boot
- Description of what you need
- Battery support recommended when writing back
Year, make, and model alone are not enough to guarantee support. ECU family, PCM part number, software version, file format, and read method all matter.
Have everything ready? Upload your read and pay online, or mail in the PCM if you cannot read the file.
Pricing
Final price depends on ECU family, file type, service requested, and whether recovery or cloning is needed.
Frequently asked questions
- Which Dodge Charger engines do you support?
- We work with Charger 3.6L Pentastar, 5.7L HEMI, 6.4L HEMI / 392, and 6.2L supercharged Hellcat applications where the PCM is a supported GPEC family. Confirm by PCM label, part number, and read file.
- Is my Charger PCM GPEC2 or GPEC2A?
- It depends on the year and controller fitted. Send the PCM label photo and part number and we will confirm the GPEC family before processing.
- Can I upload a Charger file read over OBD?
- Sometimes. Depending on the ECU and protocol, an OBD read may be enough, or a bench / boot read may be required. Tell us your read method and we confirm.
- Do you handle Hellcat and Scat Pack Chargers?
- Many 392 / Scat Pack and Hellcat Charger applications are supported. Verify by PCM label and read file since coverage varies by controller.
- Do you provide emissions delete files?
- No. We do not provide emissions defeat, delete files, or services intended to bypass emissions laws. Our service is for tuning preparation, diagnostics, repair, motorsport, and off-road use where legally permitted.
- Is this the same as a tune?
- No. This is a PCM unlock and file-preparation service, not a tuning file. It prepares supported ECUs for the tuning workflow you run with your own tools, where legally permitted.
Legal use only
